It's just two easy steps:

1Fill out the simple form here with your donation amount.

If your tax burden does not reach the maximum amount, or if you already planned on donating to a different organization, lesser contributions are greatly appreciated.

2Fill out the simple, one page AZ 323 and AZ 348 form, and file it with your state taxes.

The AZ 348 is only needed if you are donating more than $731 for an individual or more than $1,459 as a married couple. This is for what is called the "Switcher credit".

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a tax credit?

Many people are under the impression that tax credits and tax deductions are the same thing. While they are both types of tax breaks and are similar in many ways, there are key differences. Most importantly, tax credits help reduce the amount of tax that you owe. On the other hand, a tax deduction only helps to reduce the amount of your income that will be taxed.

Example: If you owe $2,300 in AZ tax, take the $2,269 tax credit and your tax liability will be $31. Remember, you do not have to participate with the maximum amount, any amount will be helpful.

What is the maximum tax credit I can receive?

The maximum tax credit amount is seen in the last column of the chart above.

Arizona state law requires us to break out your donation into two groups – Original tax credit and a Switcher tax credit. This primarily is something we need to track from an administrative stand point.

What is the Switcher Tax Credit?

In August 2012 the state added an additional tax credit for education. The new law almost doubled the original amount of the Tax Credit. This law is called the Switcher Tax Credit.
